Ugrading components in a laptop

I have a HP Pavilion dv5z 1000 notebook with AMD Turion x2 Dual Core processor and ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics. Can my graphics and processor be upgraded by a local expert?

The GPU cannot be upgraded bu the CPU can.

It is strange that both AMD & Intel CPU's are listed they are not interchangable

The AMD CPU's seem expensive (as new) and at 2.1GHz & 2.2GHz probably not much faster than your existing CPU.
what is CPU speed of your HP laptop?


You can usually upgrade RAM & Hard Disk or Hard Disk to SSD or add additional drive in place of DVD drive, possibly upgrade Wireless card (mini PCI or PCI-e) if you don't have Wireless N

but other upgrades are usually much more difficult and un ecconomic

They are listed because there are different models of dv5-1000, need to do research to see which mobo is the exact model to know which cpu are compatible

My cpu speed is 2 ghz, and from what i hear, i can upgrade my gpu by replacing the entire motherboard. Is it possible?

And does anybody know how much will a new motherboard, along with nvidia geforce 9800 gtx card, will cost?

Can i purchase a new motherboard and attach a new gpu to it and use it in my laptop? Can i use the ati radeon hd 3870 card in my laptop? Does anybody have any idea how much it is going to cost? Please reply soon.
