so i have a new motherboard and i want to know will i have to reinstall windows 7 ? if i do i may have to download a <removed by moderator> because i lost my windows 7 disk but i still have activation key so what do i do windows 7 proffesional ?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it works, kind of.
You should reinstall, to ward off any possible issues.

If you have a valid activation key, you can download the official Windows 7 ISO here:

If yours is an OEM key, it is licensed to your original motherboard. You may be able to convince MS to authorize that key with new hardware, but they are under no obligation to do so.


There is never a valid reason to download a pirated version.
