The UK is a basket case for freedom... not like they had much... But it seems like they are heading head first to communism as fast as they can, believe it or not. All the signs of socialism are clearly there, all it takes is the next step...

I totally agree with memadmax. First the surveillance boxes and the open surveillance plan, then the Twitter arrests, now this. UK will have the biggest internet censorship soon enough. (Which is quite sad.) Which is more sad, that the UK is a member of the European Union. I really don't like where this is going.

I don't understand that PoV. 'Socialism' isn't a bad thing. They spend less than half what we do in the US on healthcare per person through taxes yet that's a bad thing because it's 'socialist'? It's 'communist'? Need I remind you that we have Guantanamo Bay (where people can be held and tortured without evidence because the military says they're terrorists so they're protecting us!) and the Patriot Act which iirc allows any citizen to be detained if they're thought of being a 'terrorist'. The US isn't free. Get your head out of your ass, the US is also a terrible place (Romney says cutting taxes and increasing military spending = getting out of debt!).

Two million doesn't seem like a lot to do the job its supposed to do...and to both sides complaining about our side and their side, take a look on the inside first. Try being a mover and shaker before a couch riding, tv watching finger wagger.

as a British citizen i welcome this, just as long as it is used for the right reasons and is not corrupted buy the Music, Film, Games and Software industries and that they actually go for the big problems. like the internet Conmen and malicious hackers. not just Joey 2 by 4 who downloaded an album from youtube.

further more no matter who I or the UK public vote for we always will get stabbed in the back thanks to good old goverment U-turns, the EU and our friend over the pond the Good ol' US of A

I'm a UK citizen as well, but the truth that this is the government getting ready for the six strike rule , due to start in 2013 to protect copyright.
And to further their policy off restricting access to web sites around the world, and to also monitor and store all Internet communications.
Scary steps in the wrong direction, in the disguise of law and order.
And unfortunately nothing to do with conman and internet scams.
