UK to US compatiblity

I know it may sound stupid but, will US hardware work on UK stuff. So say if
I imported an amd socket 939 processor and mobo and plugged them into a UK
power supply. Would they fry? I assume not because they both work on 12v
right?

Any internal component should be fine, as it will be powered by your PSU
output voltages, which are (I hope!) standardized throughout the world.
Anything with it's own power supply *may* be a different story.

It's not the ATX connector that is the problem.

Many places in the UK run on 220 volt AC lines. You will find many of the
PSUs have a switch for adjusting, but I can't guarantee that all do

The processor and mobo would not fry.

Na works fine. I did just that.

I read somewhere that some manufacturers (only Dell?) use a different
standard for the mobo-PSU connector so take care if upgrading an existing
OEM case.
