Hi,
I was curious what is the general media coverage in US on the ukrainian crysis, plane that was shot down last thursday etc. Do they generally try to inform whats the impact of this crysis on Europe - Russia - Wordlwide relations? Does US media support one of the fighting sides (separatists or regular ukrainian army)? Is it covered on daily basis or just incidentally?

I'm asking because here in Poland I believe that there is a general understanding, that this conflict will have a huge impact, not only for Ukraine but worldwide. If this case is let go, then any country in the world can violate territory of another without consequences. And now, after the plane crash, rest of european countries start to realize that. BUT US is far, far away.

I would suspect that a pro-Ukranian stance is taken.

The Western world tends to oppose Russia's expansionism for geopolitical concerns.

Constrict and contain -> Mackinder's heartland theory & Kennan's "Long Telegram".

I listen to "Democracy Now", NPR and Fox for news. These are news organizations on totally different wavelengths. I've witnessed all three give multiple angled news of the event and they talk about it in segments every day. Many things are covered. Yesterday for instance, French war ship sales and Germany gas imports were discussed. I've found that there is a distinct lack of Pro-Ukranian reporting, either for or against. Mostly about how Putin should stop being a thug and be a world leader. I find it really sad how the whole investigation is being handled. Which is to say, there is none and there has been tampering. As far as eastern European effects you allude to? I have heard very little. Except, I can recall that Europe is not going to war over Russia taking "Free City of Danzig" to link "Russian speakers". (Being Polish, I hope you understand the historical significance 😉

The media plays a important part in this horrible tragedy in the states everyday. Most of the media supports the Ukrainians and oppose Russia's side.We shall see what further transpires.

We shall see further as this investigation is pursued.

I thought all French men were left handed ... with twisted moustaches ... funny hats ... and had a napkin on one arm ... surrounded by pretty women.

Your ruining our stereotype !!!
