Dixons was an awful company. PC world is a rip off staffed by people that know nothing about computers and the Currys "mega" store is a show room to view the TV before you get it from elsewhere.
For the people in the USA, you'll never find a better examples of British awful awful customer service.

Pixmania has ok prices, but has the incredibly annoying habit of adding things to your cart you didn't asked for (membership card and extended warranties...things like that)

I'd rather not buy from them.

Yeah, there's a reason why it is closing - and it's not because most have fond memories of them either...

the main reason i stopped buying from them was due to the internet. Everything was cheaper.

and if you walked into the shop the CPU would be even more expensive.

and don't get me started on the customer service!
