Ultimarc T-Stick Plus, Thoughts?

I'm considering replacing my Happ Cometitions with the Ultimarc T-stick
Plus ball-tops. I figure they would be ideal for my cocktail cab as I
play games that use both 8way and 4way, and I don't have the space for a
second stick. Have any of you used these before? What do you think?

Thanks, I had seen that, (that's how I found out about them in the first
place). I was wondering if anyone else had any comments?

I've got one of them on my mame cab because I only had room for 1 stick.
While I will say that I wish it had more throw to it, you can get used to
it. I don't have a bunch of experience with other sticks to compare
against, but I am pleased with it because the 4-way 8-way switching it
excellent. Yes, it clicks when you use it, but hey, turn up the game
volume!

Thanks,

SA Dev

I remember someone on the BYOAC forums built a 4-player cab and used T-
Stik Plus joysticks for all four players, but I can't remember a name
(sorry!)

I like the short throw for shooters, but the 4 way gate on it just
isn't up to the level of a true 4 way stick. You can adjust to it, but
when someone new comes over and tries to play a 4 way game, they'll
quickly become frustrated. My friends that like all the "Special Move"
fighters don't like the short throws and "clickiness".

They're durable, but I think I'm going to replace them with Happs
within the next few months. Pics of them in my cab if you're
interested...

That sounds promising, I have a coctail cab oriented vertically, so I
won't be playing any special move fighters. The number one complaint I
get about my cab is how hard pac-man or donkey kong is when you can hit
a diagonal if you're not careful. When you meant they would become
frustrated by a 4-way game, do you still think it's better than trying
to play it with an 8 way stick?

Tough call. For someone trying your cab for the first time and playing
Pac Man (thats ALWAYS the request of my wifes friends when they see
it), they're still going to have problems. Perhaps it is the combo of
the short throws and the not-so-positive gate.

I'm used to the sticks and never switch them to 4 way mode. I
occassionally get hung up trying to get on a ladder or something in
Donkey Kong. I think I'd prefer a little longer throw dedicated 8 way.
I also think that would be easier for someone not accustomed to the
feel of the T-Stik. Don't get me wrong, mine have been good, reliable
sticks, but they just don't feel like anything like the Happs most
have used in "real" arcade games.
