You should limit your budget to $2000...

Your spending $3500 without even a monitor...

Take out the second SSD, take out the second hard drive

Why get two 780 ti's... Get 2x780's, I'd get 2x770's (4GB version) because really your being ripped of by Nvidia and the market. It's just a game they are playing to squeeze money out of people who don't know about hardware...

That'll put you back into the lower $2,000 region where you should be...

You can buy new Storage along the way. Prices get cheaper and sometimes there are special deals where you can pick up some good drives really cheap. Considering the 750D you picked out, it has tons of space to do whatever you want. (Great case btw)
Hello.
Your build is great, however I think you can make a few changes in order to squeeze more performance:

I changed the memory to a 2133 one, since they are at the same price.
I added Samsung EVO 250GB cause the EVO 250GB has near the same performance as Pro 128, but with double capacity :).
And last, I changed the Windows version to OEM, you don't need to give $200 since the OEM is the same for your build.
Edit: I just saw that your build is mainly from amazon and newegg. [strike]With the difference of $70 I don't think it will have much $$ difference if you buy it from the newegg/amazon[/strike]
edit2: I changed everything to be from amazon/newegg :)

Think this might be a better rig for your usage, and turns out a bit cheaper.

Major changes
- X79 platform, thats two more cores in the CPU and potential for far more RAM than you can get on a mainstream platform
- Double the RAM, self explanatory. No need for faster RAM, for your usage its going to be sheer capacity thats whats important.
- No need for dual SSD's unless you intend to use it as a scratch disk (but then where does your OS go?). The EVO performs just fine for an OS drive, you would only want the Pro for aforementioned scratch disk usage because of the tougher flash.
- Double the number of HDD's, which allows you plenty of RAID options including RAID10 or just a straight JBOD with plenty of room. Seagate Barracuda's perform the same as WD Blacks and are cheaper.
- Downgraded the dual 780Ti's for a Titan. Much better for proffessional usage as it doesnt have crippled compute capabilities, and more VRAM for proffessional applications. For gaming on a 2560x1440p screen, it will be plenty on its own. You have the slot bandwidth and PSU to throw in another if you wanted.
- Dont think you really need a high end soundcard, though throw it in there if you wish.
- Changed the case, similar aesthetic and much better for water-cooling.
- Dont need 8.1 Pro, the features it has over a vanilla W8.1 are more geared toward a corporate environment, for a home user you simply don't need it.

Leaves you a fair bit to water-cool with, I would say $500 for a good loop that includes the CPU and Titan.

^^ He doesn't need 6 cores... He doesn't need a Titan either, He never stated his professional uses. Don't throw in 32GB ram, It's way to expensive now, he can pick it up later. go with 16GB for now. Keep the 750D

What the hell is wrong with people who like to throw money at corporations... Consumerism has plagued the world.

Well popesloth, my build is more gaming>editing, while manofchalk's build is more editing>gaming.

Manofchalk, I choose also Win8.1 Pro, cause I thought that the standar version has the same limitations as the other windows standar versions of the limit of 16GB RAM. I guess I was wrong and the standar has 128GB now.
ps: Since he wants water o/c I think that in your build you can have the Silverstone TJ07B-W-USB3.0 just for $75 more, which is (in my opinion) the best case (til TJ11) for watercooling.

thanks for the help you guys, i went the 750d over the tj11 because it looks better to me, my only question is about the ram the ram i chose has a cas latency of 9 the ram you chose has a cas latency of 11, will i notice much of a difference with the ram?

He is doing programming, 3D modelling and video/photo editing and is willing to drop a fair amount of cash on it, if he isn't doing this professionally then this whole endeavor is a fair waste of cash. His budget indicates professional usage and he hasn't said otherwise.
The 750D will limit his water-cooling capabilities later on, the thing can only hold a 360+120mm rad if you want to keep the drive bays (which if he is professional, he will want plenty of).

I think the absolute best case you could get would be a Caselabs Magnum TX10-D, though at that point your spending $1000 on the case alone. Though its dual system, and both sides support a beastly amount of hardware. Could run the editing rig on one side, have a home server/NAS on the other 😀
The TJ07 is a valid option, just that Phanteks case is IMO pretty damn good. It has similar water-cooling capabilities to a 900D while costing less and being smaller. Cases are pretty subjective, as long as they suit your requirements you cant make a bad decision, especially at the end of the market were looking at.

Do you watch LinusTechTips?

Not really, generally frequency has a greater impact to performance than timings do. What performance hit there is, will be fairly minimal anyway, RAM performance really doesnt have that large an impact on general performance except in very specialized situations.

Anytime :).
The RAM you choose has: Speed: 1866MHz Timing: 10-11-10-30.
While the RAM I replaced with has: Speed: 2133MHz Tested Latency: 11-11-11-27
The 2133 will be better at the same time will cost lower. I don't know why in the hell amazon has a 1866 at these timings, so high priced...
I use the same RAM on the same Mobo with the same CPU. I am getting ridiculsy high speeds (I am not sure why...).
I get 31862MB/s at AIDA64, while at techpowerup with ASUS Maximus VI Extreme mobo And In sisoft sandra I am getting 27,4GB/s. I don't know if I have golden samples, but this 2133 RAM is amazing.

This is not a case, its a nofrost fridge with accidently well placed sockets to place computer parts!!! 😛

edit: If Godzilla was near this case, he would develop an inferiority complex... xD

edit2: About linustechtips: Are you refering to this?
900D seems nice (and any other case that is similar), but TJ07 has place for radiator at the lowest part of the case. That means better cooling due to the lower degree of Celcius the air has at lower heights. Not to mention that the air from TJ07 will not go inside the case like the 900D will go.

Krazee is completely right..

whether gaming or editing you won't get much improvement with 2 780ti.... only if you love gaming on projections or 4 monitors duh..
gaming only = i5 4670k more not needed
gaming and editing = i7 4770k
editing professional (industrial) = 2 octagons lol
gaming and editing professional = i7 4930k...

or amd is not a bad choice either and is cheaper

waste the money where you need to waste them not where you don't
and people will say 2011 is dead sockel =))
what don't tell me you believe they will make 6cores cpus on sockel 1150 O_O
so 1150 is a dead sockel too when you buy i7 4770k (what cpu will you update to afterwards on that sockel lol?)

Thanks for a bit of support...

But seriously, People are stupid. People spending money they don't have on things they don't need. It's like those people who buy the full option car and end up never using ANY part of it. It's just the stupidity of the average consumer, which is why these corporations can successfully sell the SAME product... AGAIN! (780ti, Titan, 780...)... Really...

If our good ole buddy who needs help was a professional, he would be looking at the software he uses, identifying what is required and then he would purchase what he needs... like an sRGB or an Adobe RGB monitor... Some software takes very good use of the Quadro and FirePro series of cards... Even if the gaming performance isn't as good, those cards excel in certain aspects...

Gaming, Modding, Steaming, Programming, Video Editing, Photo Editing, Using the internet.

---All of this can be done on a $2k build with ZERO problems... and modding? lol...

To me, this looks like somebody who has a hobby and is unsure of what they want to pursue... Spending $4k+ on something surely isn't the right way to go.

very well said yet tooo much insults lol
well true but if you want professional editing and creation + gaming then I would go for a 4930k (octagons may be better but gaming experience will be hell itself) .. you know some programs need such power too.
and well if you have eyes you may buy things cheap.
I mean 4930k is not so expensive if it helps you make money out from it (I paid 350€ for it 😵).
but getting ridiculously priced rigs where all you do is hobby and gain nothing from is pointless lol

and yet gtx 780 is not really a rip off (performance, cause price is rip off lol)... though people should better wait for custom version of r9 290.
makes more sense to pay 400$ on a better card (patience is the key) than 520$ on nvidia

^^ Yes! I know the 4930k is good and all but our buddy here doesn't know what he wants even. If he was into professional video/game creation then I'm certain that he'd have a workstation at work.

the GTX 7xx series is just the 600x series improved and the Quadro chips modified to fit gaming purposes...

I know a guy who bought a $3000 Macbook just because the girl he had a crush on had one... Not making this up.

stupidity can be manifested in more than one form.
scary
and yet I would say a gtx 770 is more than one needs for gaming.
gaming on 4 monitors and projection O_O what for? gain anything by it lol?

yet the macbook ..... apple for the way (it's an apple you can't eat and overpriced. lame and useless)
what if the girl had it for free. you know if you work in such industry or trade with such people you receive sometimes gifts so that you accept the terms of the trade/business lol. The father/mother could simply give that received item to they're daughter/son.
and poor fool throws money on a cliche just for .. wait a second just for what lol?

Ha not a chance. 🙁 I never understand why people buy apple unless they NEED apple software. And i seriously mean NEED... Not a 9 year old girl who wants to take photobooth pictures.

lol you just answered your own curiosity yourself LOL

and others gain them as gifts ( I would happily buy a macbook for 1$ =D )

Hey I need help and for Christmas my parents are willing to buy me a whole editing/a little gaming PC. So I will earn so money to help pay if too expensive but I want it under $1,000. I've been researching and I'm inexperienced and need some help.

Can you please give me a list of products and price please and maybe site, If you can find any used ones that are cheaper and might have never even touched and work that would be great. Processor, Motherboard, RAM, Hard Drive, Case, and a Power Supply.

Please respond
