Question Ultra-ATA/100 to USB or SATA

A simple IDE dock is enough? To be honest, I am not really aware of what the "/100" changes after "ultra-ATA".
That refers to the speed. Back in the before times there was ATA 33 and ATA 66, etc.

I've had decent luck with models similar to this one, the key is to get one that has external 12V power since the larger drives need 5V and 12V to work. Being USB you can connect to a laptop or desktop.

The ones that use a 4-pin Molex for power are really only suited for desktops, but work as well. I think I have USB one that still needs a desktop PSU.

There are also the IDE to SATA only adapters, which again means a desktop installation for the power.
