Ultra fast boot, unable to enter bios

So in my bios settings I enabled this thing called ultra fast boot. It's great, it boots so quickly the motherboard splash screen doesn't even flash! Boots in 7 seconds, problem is, it boots TOO fast, I need to access bios, and the USB devices are disabled by ultra fast boot, thus causing a problem. I don't want to go to the trouble of resetting my CMOS, that just seems a bit too much to access bios. If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.

most newer mb like msi have small windows programs that when run on the next reboot puts the mb into the bios. the other software now is software suit to let users to change bios settings in windows.

Just press F6 while you start, a window asking you to reset cmos will pop up !!
just select your desired option, and in next boot, you can enter bios as usual.

I have a similair problem with my new PC - built it today - April 24th it's i5 4670 k and gigabyte board . It boots in less then 2 seconds with fast boot but like most fast boot stuff it takes longer to load stuff and drivers and other things once in windows and takes longer to shutdown and that's bad cause I have a ssd

So to fix it
1. Open up the computer
2. Un conect the data or power cord to the hard disks
3. Boot press delete to enter bios settings
4. Turn quick boot or fast boot off
5 . Connect every thing again and start up the PC

I hope that helps - no reason to reset the bios.

For MSI fast boot, to disable it, you download the msi fast boot program and turn it off through that.

Found that out when building a pc with a msi motherboard.

This is the solution.

1) Boot to the Windows 8 login screen.
2) While holding the Shift key, restart the computer.
3) Click on the Troubleshoot button.
4) Enter UEFI Firmware settings.
5) Restart as instructed.

You are now in the BIOS, enjoy.

In case he own a gigabyte board (sounds like) ,he can enter bios without cmos reset, there is an gigabyte-

appcenter with option fast / ultrafastboot > and enter bios. i had the same problem enter the bios after deinstall

that appcenter ,because by default settings the ultra and fastbootoption disabled full usb support when boot, so

there is no way enter the bios by hit some button from (usb) connected keyboard.

If its gigabyte just download giagabyte app center and download fast boot it will give you an option to turn it off an on and to enter bios

As "ErAnkurPaul" and "Wolf Doe" said, with MSI there is a FastBoot application ( C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI\Fast Boot\ ) - with it you can click on the icon "Go2BIOS ==>" to restart and go straight to the BIOS.
Then fix it (by making the settings to enable support for Intel Rapid..

That solved my issue. If you cannot, there is another method: use the same software for disable the fast boot then click on the same "Go2BIOS ==>" button to restart, and set the BIOS settings to the default.

i Am also Facing the Same Problem which takes me up to 5 to ten second to boot up but my pc works fine after boot. when i reset my bios settings it worked fine and everything what i had changed in the bios like fan speed i changed it to my desire.

there are two options i used in gigabyte GA-h97m-d3h motherboard
1. Load Optimized defaults
2. Save and Exit which reset the motherboard

after doing this the motherboard was booting in a second but in my system the ram is 4Gb and i am using 22Inch display which requires 8Gb of ram. my system was freeze of overuse of the ram and this problem started again. now i press DEL button and went to the bios boot drive option and i just saved using F10 and it is now working fine..

as i think this problem could be a faulty motherboard or a basic features of the these motherboard MSI and Gigabyte.

Marc: (IT tech) I had the same problem after selecting Ultrafast-Boot option in BIOS on a fresh win10 install. I lost PS2 mouse support but PS2 keyboard was OK in Windows10. The motherboard was a Gigabyte GA-H110M-H. I could not enter BIOS setup at all to reset boot options. I solved the problem by plugging in a USB mouse which worked and then installing the Gigabyte APP package. I was then able to enter the FastBoot option (Gigabyte APPS) while in Windows10 and disable Fastboot.
I was then able to enter BIOS again normally at boot up (press Delete key).
When I set the midrange, FastBoot option the machine booted windows with the PS2 mouse still working. However there was only minimal boot speed up time compared to normal. (The UltraFastBoot was a lot faster but did not like the PS2 mouse)

Gigabyte Makes a Utility to allow you to disable fast boot fast boot from within windows.

Download the AppCenter and the FastBoot Utility.

Install the AppCenter, then Install FastBoot.

Then open the AppCenter, go to Fast Boot and run that.

You can disable it there, and set what to happen on AC power loss.

By Default Fast Boot set to Ultra will boot normally if you kill the power to the machine. So if you aren't worried about that you can just pull the plug (or equivalent) and then plug it back in and boot and it will boot normally and you can get in the bios.

Tuve el mismo problema en una desktop. Retirando la batería 2032 de la placa madre durante unos segundos, se pierde la informacion de setup y da un error de checksum al inicio. Ahi se puede abrir el setup y corregiro todo. Ufff!!! me preocupe mucho cuando me ocurrio. Saludos

Gigabyte has gigabyte app center download that and then install fastboot app ..fastboot app will let you boot into bios without cmos reset and ruining all your settings

Beside the obvious, just unplug all SATA (or M.2) connections to the motherboard. Boot straight into BIOS.
