For all the skyrim modders out there, I'm looking for a rig around 1k or less that could run this graphical setup:

K enb Pure light extreme preset
Verdant Grass extreme
Skyrim flora overhaul
Aof enhanced lods and trees
Simply bigger trees
Cover woods 4k
Superior rock textures 4k
SMIM
W.A.T.E.R

Im looking to achieve 40-60fps if possible. Thanks

Solution
The 6600K can be overclocked to perform as well as i7's, but I think this would be much more simpler. Went a little overbudget though.

To be honest the 390 better specially if you're modding (Which uses a LOT of ram)

Everyone just seems to go with the 970 because of the 50W lesser TDP.

Yea if the 970 is only 50w less, i guess ill go for the 390 since it has 8gb compared to 3.5gb. I heard the drivers for the 390 arent as optimized as the 970, therefore it gets outperformed by a couple frames.

The 390 is actually somewhat faster than the 970 as of late, except for a few Nvidia optimized titles like Witcher 3 and the like. (Even then it's only 3-5 frames slower.)

Alright ill stick with the 390. Also, how would the i5-6500 fair against other i5s in terms of cpu demanding tasks like video editing and rendering? I am thinking of capturing some footage of skyrim with enbs on.

It can do it okay, Skyrim isn't that CPU demanding, but you really don't have the money for much better i5s.

Also, you CAN OC the Skylake i5s that don't have a K in their name.

i7s and even amd FX-8000s would be better at rendering videos, (but amds will be worse at all other tasks like play the game) but capturing footage is still easily doable on the i5.

And since I gave you 16gbs of ram you'll have the extra needed for recording. Just make sure to install skyrim on the SSD and put the recordings on the HDD. Recording gets very dificult when youre recording a game running off the same HDD as the where the recording is being written to.
