Hi everyone!

I'm just about to buy slightly used Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP (100 punds - about $200, excellent condition, with dvi cable) but I have no experience with everyday use of widescreen monitors. I am wondering if S-IPS screen is worth of buying (yeah...I've heard about the fact that Dell recently has started putting S-PVA istead but this one is unfortunately S-IPS) and if this monitor would be proper choice if I am going to mainly work with Office package, surf the net and watch movies in the alone evenings 😉 If it goes about games - I won't lie I don't like them - but only in my free time. I am also afraid if this model has sufficient gtg response time (16 gtg according to datasheet, but who knows how it really works... 😉).
I have to leave to see it in an hour so would be grateful for fast, but essential responses :)

I can also buy Gateway CRT VX1120 22" (old one :)) so not to waste money and save up for some high-end Belinea LCD monitors based on S-PVA screen.
What would you do if you were in my shoes ?

Regards,
Dominik.

I am not familiar with that particular Gateway CRT but generally speaking CRTs are superior in every aspect compared to TFTs bar weight and emissions. They offer far higher resolutions and frequency rates, clarity (due to smaller dot pitch), colour accuracy, near-zero latency times and no back light bleeding at all.

On the Dell matter, S-IPS panels are superior to PVAs so you are lucky rather than unlucky mate.
