Question ultrawide gaming monitor requirements

I am currently building a new gaming rig and would like to invest in a ultrawide gaming monitor. The Samsung 49" G9 that comes out in 2nd quarter 2020 look s interesting. Question is what hardware do I need to handle this monitor so gaming looks the way it should? The monitor says it offers resolution of 5120x1440, aspect 32:9. Do games have to offer a certain resolution as well? Sorry for the noob questions!

2080ti for GPU and a Ryzen 3600x or better.

Yes, games have to support that resolution. If they don't, you will have black bars on the right and left of the screen.

interesting... so if you had to take a guess. how many new games support a resolution that high? 100%... 50%... 10% ?

New AAA games I'd say close to 100%.
