Hi,
I am currently using an LG 21:9 2560x1080 monitor, however I have had it for quite a while now and am looking to upgrade. I really like the advantages of 21:9 for working but also the immersion you get in games. I play mainly competitive games such as CS:GO and Rainbow 6 so I'd value a refresh rate increase. Are there any monitors around this price point that offer 1440p 21:9 and a refresh rate boost (nothing crazy ill be happy with 100-120hz). I cant seem to find a compromise between these factors.
Thanks

Here's what I found at the Newegg UK store:

https://www.newegg.com/global/uk-en/p/pl?N=100160979 4814 600554755 600559798 8000 600569036&Order=PRICE

And, you can cross-check to AMD's FreeSync Monitor site to confirm that all 3 in that list have a FreeSync range of 48-100, and LFC (but not FreeSync 2).

That was just an initial look - I'm sure a few other models could be found with a little more digging.

EDIT: That said, is there any reason you're unhappy with your current monitor? A higher resolution WILL put more demand on your video card.

Thanks for the link, answering your "EDIT", alot of my friends have been getting high refresh rate monitors and they say its great, and helpful especially in csgo, but I really like my current monitors aspect ratio, so I kinda wanted a combination of the two, and if im upgrading my monitor, might as well go 1 res up, as im happy running 60hz 1440p on more demanding single player games then 100hz 1080p on shooters.

I suppose another question would be - do you want the higher res, or a bigger monitor? Of course, I ask this not knowing the size of your current 2560x1080 monitor. Is it, say, a 29" or a 34"? Does it seem too "blocky" or "pixellated" for you? (everyone's eyes are a bit different in what they like). Is it limited to, say, just 60Hz?

For my son's monitor, it's 34" @ 2560x1080, and looks pretty good - it has 50-144Hz, with LFC so things will work down to 25fps. His video card can't manage anything close to that top end 144Hz.

Now (and I'm making some guesses and assumptions), if you're looking for finer detail while gaming, I'd say it's probably best, if at all possible, to find a brick-and-mortar store that has a large selection of monitors on display - you can try them out (not sure if they'd let you try games, but at least browsing the web, viewing videos, etc) and see if the extra resolution of going 3440x1440 is much more comfortable for you, or doesn't appear to give any improvement at all.

A monitor is something I personally have been, and recommend others to be, very careful about and take one's time making a final decision - as you'll be living with that component for longer than just about anything else on your PC.
