ultrawide monitor question

I'm thinking about getting this monitor https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-29-ips-led-wfhd-219-ultrawide-freesync-monitor/5770301.p?skuId=5770301#tab=buyingOptions?bof=openbox will it be a problem for some games? I heard it might be. and the video card I'm using is a gtx 1060 6gb

It will be a problem for some games. Not all games can support a 21:9 ratio. For example all or nearly all cut scenes will be off. Before you buy this monitor you should go look at it. It is quite short. Your 1060 should be ok for that resolution.

It depends on which game and which definition for 2k you want to use. In general it is a very good card and an excellent value. If you want to play 1440p some day you would probably want to replace the video card. But below 2560x1440, it should do great in most games.
