Um so should i hook up my pc through the graphics card or the pc its self

I assume you mean the graphics card or the motherboard so hook it up to the graphics card

if you mean to your montor then you want to use the graphics card.

make sure you have the power plugs all into the motherboard and on the graphics card and restart your pc.
