UMAX 2200 + Windows 2000=problem!

I've downloaded the newest 3.55 VistaScan, and still no success in
installing it.

"This device is not working properly because
Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

I've even installed the pv8630.sys file into C:\WINNT directory!

please help!

P.S. I have Service Pack 3 on Windows 2000

What was the solution? I've been having problems with this on a Win2K machine as well. I thought it was partially due to being an older PC and the USB interface possibly being the conflict, especially since a newer UMAX scanner with different drivers had problems, but I can't remember if the scanner worked before the Win2K upgrade.
