Umax Astra 1220U under WinMe

I got this scanner when I was using win98. Since I changed to winMe and WinMe came with a driver for the scanner and Umax do not have any driver for it. I do not get the same good quality of the image as I did before, I am trying to scan something off of a catalog with 150 dpi, or 300 dpi. The picture is not very clear. and I adjust the contrast, brightness. It is still not good. Can anyone give me some answer.

A fresh, clean install of Win98SE. Seriously. Or replace your scanner.

Actually you've got 2 choices, go back to win98 or dump this scanner and get another which works with winme.
Btw, did you ask umax if they can do something about that?
