Okay I got the daemon tools and now I am confused. Is anyone out there
willing to give me a hand? I read thru the manual (something I don't
usually do, lol). Seems I need to somehow make an image of the dvd first,
but I don't have a dvd burner, do I need one? Will a cdrw work for a dvd?
Help please!!!

Those that know me, know I am not a theif, so for those who don't know
me....................I have the game, just tired of having to take it out
and put it back in all the time. I do use my dvd drive for other things
than just the sims :)

To make an image of a DVD all you need is a DVD reader. It's only if you
want to put that image onto a DVD that you will need a DVD burner. Your
other alternative is to download one of the previously made mini images and
use that.

What you need is some software that can create an image (maybe a .iso or
..nrg file) of a CD/DVD. I use Nero's "Save Track" function, but
doubtless there are many others, some probably free.

You then point Daemon Tools at the iso/nrg file and it reads it as if it
were a real CD/DVD

I got it..........I downloaded an image but it was an .mir file and I wasn't
sure it was gonna work, but it did.

I used Alcohol and did it from there
(made the image files I mean)
but since I'm such a newbie I just cloned the CD's onto a single DVD
and was shoving that in my DVD ROM drive every time I wanted to play the
Sims
NOW I know that I could just copy the images onto a folder in my Games drive
and run it from there
brilliant!
😉
No more scratchy DVD's!

Yes, I'm dumb on things like this, but where would I download an image
like you're talking about?

if you search at no cd patch you will enter game copy world
there is a little file 150 kb
that has to be mounted in the deamon drive then with a no cd patch
sims will work more or less

have a look at www.gamecopyworld.com and www.gameburnworld.com one of them
should have an image file. I don't use them myself as my "virtual drive" is
somehow only partially installed. I can't finish the installation and I
can't remove it. Everytime I boot the computer I just have to cancel the
completion of the installation. It doesn't seem to have any other adverse
affects and, one of these days, I will get around to formatting my computer
again to get rid of it properly.

Thanks, I found one at one of those sites. LOL Well, I know what you
mean, I have
some things I'd love to get rid of too and like you, one of these days
I'll do a complete format.
I'm in the process of buying a DVD writer, my CD writer is broke & now
that DVD writers are going
down in price, I'll get a DVD instead of another CD writer. I need to
burn some backups before formatting.
