Un-needed extra copies being printed

We have had this problem since installing XP and it continues even through
SP2. Our printer (HP LaserJet 6L) prints two copies of everything even though
only one is specified. I have looked through all the settings and defaults
and everything is set for one (1) copy. Since the printer jams frequently we
feed it one sheet at a time and whenever we add another piece of paper it
prints the last document printed again.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I think we solved the problem. Turns out that if you print a document
(feeding a sheet at a time) and fail to put another piece of paper in the
printer before turning the computer off, the next time you turn on the
computer and put some paper in the printer it prints another copy of the last
document printed. If we remember to put the paper in BEFORE we turn off the
system it won't do this.
I thought I'd pass this anlong in case someone else ever has a similar
problem but I'm sure it's rare since our printer is borken and only accepts
one sheet at a time.
