[SOLVED] un22f5000af 120hz stuck at 60hz

Solution
My Samsung un22f5000af monitor can't go above 60hz while it should go up to 120hz.

That is a TV, the rating for the refresh rate is for the internal display, which TVs tend to "fake" a bit using various technology, not that it is an actual 120hz display like a monitor would be. The earlier post about this is correct, that is not a 120hz display, if you read down in the specs you will see this:

"Motion Enhancement Technology
120 Clear Motion Rate"

Basically they say it will look like it's running at 120hz vs 60, but it's really not.
I obviously did but there is no option over 60hz. According to the specs it should.
how rude, you said nothing that would indicate that you tried anything!
Are you using display port or hdmi? Is it specified that 120hz is for displayport only?
Another thing is that is a TV not a monitor. I'm not sure on the relevance of the type of display, but I'm also not opposed to the idea that a TV used as a monitor would have a different impact.

Don't take it like that. I meant and should have said that I tried all the obvious thing. My bad.

Anyway, as there is only 2 hdmi port on the monitor, I had to use display port to hdmi.

It's quite implicit. Anyway, thanks.

Yes I don't agree with the vendors giving this rating for their products when it's not really true. There are a few specs that TV and monitor makers mess with, like contrast ratings. However there is no exact rule or law that specifies how they can market certain terms and technology, so unless someone looks into the details of the hardware it can be easy to think it's something it's not.
