Question Unable to activate voice chat over steam or Halo Infinite

I'm trying to play Halo Infinite with some friends but not only will it not let me connect to the party, but it won't let me use voice chat either. I've tried as a test to activate voice chat just over steam and that doesn't work either. I don't think it's the mic itself because I've ran a test and the mic works. It specifically won't connect when trying to simply connect over voice. Any theories on the culprit? I am running Windows 11. Since Steam itself is having a connectivity issue in regards to connecting to friends, I don't think just reinstalling Steam is the solution either. Could it be a setting on my modem? I am not running any firewalls that I know of.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

What error messages, pop-ups, etc. (if any) appear when connections and voice chat fail?

What errors are presented when connectivity to Steam fails?

If Steam is having problems then anything you do or try to do may be moot. Are all your friends able to connect and play without problems?

As for firewalls: Who has full admin rights to the modem/router or router as it may be? You will need help from that person.
