Unable to activate Windows 8.1

When I click on PC properties and activate windows, a settings windows pops up saying "this version is expired, install the newest version to activate", when I click on the link under it, it takes me to Windows Store, where is says "sorry, this update is not availible for your pc, or you might be running an edition of Windows, that doesnt support the update". Please help, as its getting really annoying, because my pc turns off every 40 minutes or so, Any help greatly appreciated

Im using a pc, which i built 3 months ago. I booted windows 8.1 from usb, however now i need to activate it, as it was 90-day trial version.

Am i going to have to delete windows 8 from my ssd or anything?

you can upgrade and keep most of your stuff or do a clean install...
firstly though acquire a licence..
