Hi, Have on hand an IBM X3650 M4 Rack Server, which I recently had to replace the System Board due to failure. However, upon boot-up, was met with the following error message:

Was hoping that I could be advised on what the error entails, and if I can restore the data within the RAID Storage. Note that I have been unable to identify its RAID Configuration or Level.

Hope that it can explained as plainly as possible, as I am quite new.

Thank You and Best Regards.

Will the Configuration Utility "C" load? (Do not change anything.)

What about the "I" [Informational Events]?

Can you check the POST Event Viewer?

Try to get some additional screenshots to add to your post.

Have been able to access the Configuration Utility, but have yet to load it as it mentions it could result in Drive Configuration changes.

The Information Event module is accessible, but only displays "Critical Message Handling Completed. Please Exit."

As for the POST Event Viewer, it displays the message "Firmware Log is Empty"

About all I can think of is that the failled system board may have corrupted the drives.

Not sure what else to suggest.

How old is that IBM X3650 M4 ? End of Service Life is listed as Dec 31, 2021....

I did find what may be an applicable Installation and Service Guide:

https://pubs.lenovo.com/x3650-m4/

[Do verify that I found the applicable guide.]

Hopefully someone familar with the X3650 will read your post and be able to offer further suggestions.

If the System Board did indeed corrupt the drives, is there a way to verify the prognosis or attempt recovery ?

Based on warranty information, should be circa 2013.

Thank you for the assistance provided thus far.

This free tool will attempt to determine the parameters of your RAID:

http://www.freeraidrecovery.com/

It will not recover your data, though.

DMDE can automatically assemble and mount a virtual RAID. The free version can recover up to 4000 files of any size from any one folder per click.

https://dmde.com/

Alternatively, after you have determined the parameters of your RAID, you could use mdadm in Linux to assemble it and mount it.

Just to verify, are both Toolsets highlighted capable of being run off from a Ubuntu Boot CD ?

Or will it require an independent Storage Drive to be attached ?

Note that the Server can currently only boot into BIOS, and if required to have a Storage Drive, am concerned if it will affect the existing RAID Configuration Data on the RAID Drives.

As for the Linux MDADM Utility, will have to look into its use for now.

Thank You
