Hi I have an i5 Inspiron 5000 (5577) laptop and I just added a Samsung 960 Evo SSD. I am unable to boot UEFI safe mode. I only see the IV options and Windows manager (not the SSD). Unless I am in Legacy mode, I am unable to boot windows.

Here's a brief summary of what I did to install Windows 10:
I did a clean install from step one, booting from a USB to installing windows on the unallocated SSD. There was no other drive besides the Evo during the install. I feel like there's a step I missed down the road and I've read countless topics but could not seem to find the answer.

Now after my 3rd try I'd thought I would put up a post to see if anyone knows the answer to my issue.

IV options? Is windows boot manager in the bios boot choices? It should have details of your ssd recorded in it, it should be top choice.

I don't think you missed a step, did you have a PC with win 7 before this one? or was this itself an upgrade from win 7?

All PC prior to Win 8 used MBR format on their hdd, and it matched legacy boot method and had to have the boot drive as 1st in order as the MBR partition was the 1st partition on drive, and BIOS would look for it to boot off

Win 8 & Win 10 use GPT disc format, it matches UEFI boot method which uses the windows boot manager to find the EFI boot partition which can be any partition on any hdd, unlike MBR which had to be 1st partition on 1st drive.
