Unable to Boot

I was playing Civ 5 online with my friends online when suddenly my monitor turned black. It turned out that my computer had turned off and the monitor then displayed the motherboard startup menu. I am then taken to a screen which gives me the options to start windows normally or launch start up repair. When either of these options is selected it briefly shows the screen you should be taken to before going black and returning to the motherboard startup menu. This continues in an endless loop. Can anyone help?

I tried this but the same thing happens as when I was trying to boot from the hard drive.

I only have a single 8gb RAM stick, I could try borrowing one from another computer to test it.

I tried with a different RAM stick and each individual slot but each produced the same result. I have also tried putting a different hard drive in but this also did not cause the computer to work.

I don't know what CMOS is.
The components are;
ASUS M5A 78L-M Motherboard
AMD FX 4100 CPU
1 stick of 8gb DDR3 Corsair vengeance RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7850 GPU
and a Corsair CX430 PSU

I removed the CMOS battery to reset the bios, then set the PC back up and the problem is still occurring.

There's a clear CMOS jumper on the board (labeled CLRTC), right side - 3 pins and a plastic cap covering the pins 1,2.
For clearing the CMOS, unplug the power cord and move the plastic jumper from pins 1,2 to pins 2,3.
Leave it for 10 seconds then move it back.
Plug in the power cord and start the board.
