I have a Lenovo Legion 5 (15ARH05H) equipped with a Ryzen 7 4800H and GTX 1660 Ti. I am attempting to connect a 24-inch HP monitor as a secondary display via the USB-C port, while my primary monitor (32" Odyssey G6) is connected via HDMI. The manual confirms the laptop supports two external monitors this way, but I'm encountering issues with the USB-C connection.
Here are the steps I've taken:
Here are the steps I've taken:
- Cables/Adapters Used:
- USB-C to HDMI Cable (VENTION 1.5m Type C Converter)
- UGREEN 7-in-1 USB C Hub with a regular HDMI cable
- DP 1.4 to USB-C cable and DP 1.2 to USB-C cable
- Laptop Reactions:
- Upon connecting, I hear the device connection sound, but no display appears.
- The laptop does not recognize the monitor in display settings.
- Driver and Settings Update:
- Updated IO drivers and disabled Hybrid mode in Lenovo Vantage to ensure the GPU is fully utilized.
- Testing with Another Laptop:
- Connected both monitors to my HP Elitebook 840 G5 (work laptop) successfully using a USB-C to DP 1.4 and HDMI to HDMI connections.
- Error Message Post Windows 11 Install on the Legion 5:
- Received an error: "Display connection might be limited."
- The manual specifies the USB-C port supports DP 1.2 only, hence tried a USB-C to DP 1.2 cable, but the problem persisted.
- Monitor Reaction:
- The monitor indicates a connection (PC - DP Port) but displays no image.
