Unable to connect my PC Optical Audio out on

Hardware:
Asrock 990fx Extreme motherboard
Samsung sound bar only HDMI or AUX

I am unable to connect an digital audio optical cable to PC optical out to HDMI IN on soundbar.

I purchased this https://www.amazon.com/Tendak-Optical-Extractor-Converter-Splitter/dp/B017B6WFP8/ref=sr_1_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1481857850&sr=1-1&keywords=HDMI+to+HDMI+and+Optical thinking i could hook up HDMI on the sound bar and and use optical cable on the other end, I am not able to get this to work unfortunately.

Any ideas?

The direction of this particular item is, HDMI ----> Toslink.

Thanks for getting back to me. My main goal is to hookup a sound bar that only has HDMI-IN/ HDMI-OUT and AUX. Currently the only connection my PC has is Optical OUT S/PDIF. I am wondering away i can hook up this sound bar with HDMIN to my PC that only has optical.

You can use an optical digital to analog converter like this one
https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Analog-audio-converter/dp/B004C4WPXA
and use the aux input on the soundbar.

The current soundbar i have does not have Analog R/L connections

Only :

HDMI IN & HDMI OUT
AUX - Which i used previously, but the sound quality is terrible.

PC only has
Digital optical Audio
Optical Audio Out
Or AUX

ASrock 990FX Extreme4 motherboard.

Previously, i was trying to connect HDMI on the Soundbar and Optical on the PC with the converter i purchased in my first thread.
