Unable to disable UEFI/secure boot on windows 8 machine.

I'm running windows 8 on a store brought laptop pre-installed with the OS. Asus X501A.

I want/need to live boot a linux distro from this machine however problems have arisen. Those that have an understanding of the BIOS on Windows 8 vendor based machine's might understand that disabling UEFI/secure boot isn't a very obvious fix. I would be able to include USB as boot #2 in the BIOS however I can't untill UEFI/secure boot is disabled. I can't disable UEFI/secure boot because it's greyed out.

My question is about how to gain access to those options in the BIOS I can't access. There must be a way. How are Microsoft developers able to access those options? Technicians?

I read that deleting the secure boot keys would be a viable option, though I can't find any information on this.

Any help would be appreciate.

In BIOS look for Boot option and enable the option Launch CSM, sub option Launch PXE OPROM.

Under Security option, scroll down to Secure Boot Control and disable it to boot from any media.

I'm not able to access the Boot option in the BIOS. It's greyed out as I said. I'm not even able to disable to secure boot/UEFI in the BIOS.
