Okay so with the new nvidia driver you are able to enable gsync on a freesync monitor. the monitor i have is the acer xfa240. the problem is since i play on a laptop with an external display, there are only 3 options available in the nvidia control panel, meaning i can't setup gsync since there's no option for that. any tips?

Solution
Make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers (417.71) and your GPU should be 10 or 20 series.
You should be connected to your monitor using a DisplayPort cable.
Navigate to the display on-screen menus, and make sure “FreeSync” or “Adaptive Sync” is on.
Open Nvidia Control app, go to display settings and click “Set up G-Sync.”
Select “enable G-Sync, G-Sync Compatible.”
Click apply.
