Hey,
I just bought a Dell S2716DG with Gsync and I have a GTX 760, all drivers up to date as of this posting. I am using the displayport cable provided in the box and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get 144hz to show up in the Nvidia control panel. I have gsync enabled and reso of 2560x1440 and the max refresh rate I can toggle is 120hz.
I have read in 2 places that only 900 series nvidia cards can do 144hz but they were both in reviews of the product so I cannot consider that factual info.
Does anyone know? Do I really need a 900 series card or is that BS. I have asked in other places and all I get is "your card cant even go to 144fps" or "your eye cant tell the difference between 120 and 144". Those responses are not helpful.

Thanks for any replies.

Change the advanced monitor settings to 144hz from 60hz.

-Right click your desktop, click resolution
-Select the monitor that is supposed to have the 144hz (if more than 1)
-Click advanced settings
-Click on monitor tab
-Change the drop down from 60hz to 144hz

-This may vary depending on the OS that you're using, but steps should be similar. If the drop down for 144mhz is missing, we might be missing something else.

I have already tried this, that drop-down menu in the monitor tab shows 120hz max. I have tried different ways such as enabling ULMB and then disabling it to see if it appeared. I have tried messing with the monitors settings like enabling and disabling fast mode and resetting those settings to default too.

I am not saying this is the problem, what about the motherboard you are running graphics card with does it support PCI Express 3.0? could be causing some restrictions if you have pcie 2.0 might thoughts. just throwing it out there. as what you explain should do 144hz , i have a 960 and have no issues changing it to 144hz.

[strike]I take it you tried updating the drivers on the 760?[/strike]
Try uninstalling the driver from programs and features, then uninstall it from device manager and reboot, and see if you can make the changes i outlined earler.

I found the EVGA forum about it, and another person was having the same issue you described.

This is the mobo I have, says it has PCI express 3.0:
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming G1.Sniper Z5S LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

This is the GPU I have:
EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2765-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support w/ EVGA ACX Cooler Video Card

Ok so in my programs and features window I have 6 Nvidia things installed:
NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver 364.44
NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver 364.51
NVIDIA GeForce Experience 2.10.2.40
NVIDIA Graphics Driver 364.51
NVIDIA HD Audio Driver 1.3.34.4
NVIDIA PhysX System Software 9.15.0428

Which should I uninstall and in what order?

Uninstall all of them, should be included in the NVIDIA driver package when you re-install it. No particular order.

Once you have uninstalled them from there AND device manager, reboot, and try to make the change again. If not, re-install the whole driver package again.

I uninstalled the drivers and after I went to uninstall from device manager > display adapter and all that was remaining was Intel Graphics 4600.
So I restarted my comp. From what I remember in the past with no GPU driver it should boot up with a pretty low resolution but alas it booted with 2560x1440 and in my programs and features was Nvidia Graphics Driver 358.50.
So I don't know what to do now

Well I just used DDU to wipe the video drivers and then rebooted and no Nvidia drivers were auto installed.
Then I went to Nvidia.com and got new drivers and installed them.
Still no 144hz.

I'm out of ideas from the norm.

I would suggest next to see if you can post about it in NVIDIA's site or video card manufacturer to see if this is a common problem with the card.

Out of curiosity, did you have another video card that you can test?

No other card to try out.
My wife already wants to kill me for buying the monitor, if I bought a new card to "figure this out" she would kill me.
Does anyone know if only 900 series cards just can do 144hz like I have read?
