Every time I run Storage Manager I get the error "You must initialize a disk before Logical Disk Manager can access it" for a disk labelled as "Disk 4"

I have 4 disks:
Disk 0: Data Drive
Disk 1: Data Drive (mirrored with disk 0)
Disk 2: SSD Scratch disk for video editing etc
Disk 3: Boot drive containing OS

However, ALL OF MY DISKS are already shown in Disk Management. It looks like Disk 4 is a Phantom Disk, which Windows "thinks" it can see but ii not really there.

When I click "OK" to initialise the disk, I get error message "Unable to initialise disk. There was a fatal hardware error"

The system is in good health and there are ZERO faults showing in Device Manager, including USB drivers.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

It turns out I have an answer to my own question.

I have a SATA Hard Disk cradle attached to my PC via USB. Although there is no disk in there at the moment, the cradle was inadvertently switched on. As it is out of sight under my desk, I did not see this. When I turned the cradle off, the "Unknown Disk" message on Disk 4 disappeared. :giggle:
