Hi, i just purchased an intel 535 series ssd, and i planned to just load windows 10 up on to it for faster boot times ect... I tried running the intel Data migration software, and when i get to the destination drive section of it, it shows my ssd, but grayed out and says "not initialized" when i attempt to initialize it through the disk management i get and "access is denied" error. It shows up as d:/ drive in file explorer, but gives a location not available error when clicked. I am not sure what the issue could be, and need a bit of help figuring that out. Sorry if i am overlooking something simple, and thank you for the help in advance.

Hi Joseph and welcome to the community! :)

I'd recommend that you make sure that you've connected the SSD properly and reseat the SATA cables again (to the motherboard, drive and PSU), to see if the same thing happens. It would be even better if you could try it with a different SATA port and cables or even another PC, so that you can try to initialize it again and see if the issue reoccurs. You could also download a drive diagnostics tool and test the SSD, to see if anything unusual pops-up.

Please let me know how everything goes.
