Question unable to install call of duty 2 on my laptop

Hi all this really isnt a windows 10 issue per se.. whats odd is. I am trying to install COD 2 on my Laptop and it asks me for my CD key which IS valid and is on the back of the manual that came in the box when i bought it years ago.. . YET when I enter it. It keeps telling me its invalid.. how can it be invalid. It came in the box on the manual. I had it installed on an old pc a long time ago and wanted to play it again.. any ideas??
