Unable to install KB899588 patch

I attempted to install this patch on my mission critical production server on
Saturday and the patch appeard to hang while inspecting the system. I let it
run for 20 minutes and it didn't appear to be doing anything. There were no
system resources being used and the system had 99% idle time.

I then rebooted the system and attempted to run the patch again. No change.
I was able to run this patch on my other servers with no problems.

There doesn't appear to be any posts of anyone else having this problem with
this particular patch. I'm concerned because of all servers, I don't want to
put this one at risk.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can be looking at to determine what is
making this patch hang?

Yes. I've got almost 2 gig available on C and 55 Gig free on other
partition.

How about any messages in the Event viewer? Can you run filemon
(sysinternals.com) and see if there are any permission issues?

Hi there,

What Service Pack are your servers on? I beleive KB899588 patch can
be only applied to OS2K with SP4, OSXP with SP2, OS2K3 with SP1.
