Unable to install ubuntu 16.04 on ssd with windows 10 on separate hdd on a msi z170a motherboard

I was trying to install ubuntu 16.04 through a bootable usb on a separate ssd as my windows 10 which is in a hdd but the usb failed to load after selecting the option in the grub bootloader. Anyone knows what could be the issue? I tried different usbs but I got the same results

There was no error message. The purple loading screen appeared and it disappeared, causing the computer to freeze. AMD MSI R9 390 GPU, I used the startup disk creater from ubuntu on my laptop
