Unable to install update PS3

My gf's PS3's hard drive took a dive some time ago, so I purchased a new one. When I go to install the update, it keeps coming back as "Corrupted Data 8002F225." I've checked everything from A-Z, and even tried installing through Safe Mode, and no luck. Flash Drive is formatted to Fat32. Can someone please help me with this? lol

are you downloading update directly from your ps3 ?

No I'm not. My PS3 is dead until I can install the update through the flash drive. I downloaded it on my computer. Like I said, I've done exactly as you're suppose to, and even installing in safe mode. I've tried on different flash drives, and they all come back as Corrupted Data 8002F225.

maybe you should open your ps3 and check the motherboard .. wether it is connected to your hdd or not..because sometimes ps3's motherboard malfunctions
