So I'm trying to install Windows 10 from a DVD. But it's showing an error in the partition screen.
There is only 1 HDD in the laptop. I already formatted my C drive partitions. There are other 2 partitions which contains some files. I dont want to lose those files.
So when I try to install it in the empty partition, it says I cant because its GBT.
So what should I do now?

can you copy files off the 2 partitions? Is there anything on HDD now? If you cannot use PC to copy files off, try making this on another PC: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

You need to wipe hdd to fix that error. What that error is trying to say is Win 10 recognises you have a UEFI BIOS and that the drive is formatted as MBR. Win 10 defaults to GPT format and Win 10 wants you to delete all the partitions on the hdd leaving it as unallocated space, and click the next key. win 10 will create the partitions it needs.

All Windows computers prior to Win 8 used MBR partition scheme on hdd/ssd. GPT was made to replace it as MBR has 2 main weaknesses - you can only have 4 partitions on a MBR drive and Max hdd size it can use is 2 TB
Win 8 & 10 use GPT as it was made to fix the 2 problems MBR has - the max number of partitions on a GPT drive is 128 and the biggest Drive it can use is 18.8 million TB

there is more to it but thats the basic story :)
