I've assembled my first ever rig (by myself, actually ..., bought a couple prebuilt already).

The components list is as follows:

MSI 970A-G46 ATX M/b
AMD FX4100 3.6 GHz AM3+ CPU
Corsair 2x4GB XM3 1600 MHz RAM
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA 3.0 HDD
Zotac Nvidia 610 Special Edition 2GB GFX Card
Asus DVD-RW Combo
Corsair 450W PSU
Cooler Master HyperTX3 Evo Fan
Bitfenix Merc Alpha Cabinet

When I try to install windows, it show 935.1 MB unallocated space. I choose to create new partition or which ever size..., it says Error code 0x8007045D, diskpart from command-prompt sas some I/O error.

One strange thing, I have to run SATA in IDE mode. if I change to AHCI it doesn't detect my HDD at all.

I'm a lot frustrated with a whole day & one night now with this bulls**t f**king my head up. Searched a lot, but can't find a solution.

Also, I found windows setup loading & all quite slow as compared to my 2GB DDR3, Ci3 Iron Lake laptop.

Can anyone here specifically consider & kindly help me out?

Also let me tell y'all, I'm installing via bootable USB!

Edit: It show 935.1 GBs. I mistaken it with MBs, my bad!

Is this a fresh install? What's on the HDD? If this is your first installation of anything, it looks like the HDD might already be formatted, in which case just choose to delete any partitions that are already on it in the Windows setup menu. Then create a new partition for the fresh install. 935MB isn't enough for a Windows install if you're trying to use that unallocated space for the install...

Make sure you install your HDD to the motherboard's SATA 3 ports.

That's what I'm damn sure. I have connected it on SAT 6GBs connectors! They are two apart from 4 3GBPs connectors facing other side!

Does it relate with my 6GBs or some I/O errors?

Negative, it shows you how to install windows 8 correctly. If the problem persists, try re-installing windows on your USB.

I got it...! It's on the download now. Will give it a try inna de evening. But one thing I wish to ask.., I read somewhere past night that it could the problem with a SATA HDD & SATA CD/DVD-RW connected at same time. It said that we should disconnect the Optical Drive & try again. What do you say? It deserves a try? As I don't think so because If it installs this way (in dreams), I'll have to connect optical drive later on... it will cause probs again!

Well, assuming the HDD is faulty I asked my vendor for replacement & fortunately they promised me to ship the new one within next 2 days. But one more question arising in my head now...., Do I need an SSD to boot from and does MSI 970A-G46 supports booting from SATA 6 GBPS HDDs at all?

Yes it does. I'm pretty sure your SATA III ports are the foursome coupled together on the side of the mobo as opposed to the 2 that are side by side on the face of the mobo. However, it looks like you have only SATA III ports, so any of them will do.
