Unable to install windows on ssd.

So my friend got a new SSD today and he has been having some trouble, he had a working and bootable HDD with windows 10 on it and then installed the SSD. he used the windows creation media to install windows on his ssd but it kept coming up with select a volume, volume 2 or 4. after selecting 2 it send him to the lock screen and everything works fine. he didn't want that so after some research people were saying to reinstall windows on the ssd. we did that but the installer kept saying "cannot install windows 10 on this drive, please referrer to log files" so we re tried to boot off his HDD again but it just said the pc could not boot and needs to be fixed recovery stuff, now we are kind of stuck, we kind of need quick replies,

Power off, disconnect the HDD, boot from your install media and select the SSD.
Delete ALL existing partitions on the SSD, and continue.

What, that it no longer boots up from the HDD?
At some point during this process, you borked up the boot info on the HDD.

the only other primary partition is an msr reserve shall we format that? or delete it?

Delete ALL partitions on the SSD and continue. Allow the OS to create what it needs.

You should see a list of all existing partitions on that drive.
Delete each one, and continue.

We deleted them both and started the install, so what shall we do about the HDD, the data isn't really that necessary at all so shall we just format it and how would we do that?

After it is all running on the SSD, then reconnect the HDD.
Disk Management, and delete ALL partitions on it.
