Hi everyone,
I've recently noticed that my version of Windows isn't working very well:
each time i boot up my PC, it takes up to 30 secs of BIOS time, plus, basic stuffs like when i click on a folder, it isn't highlighted in blue like it should be...
I also noticed that it's been 2 months since windows last installed a security update, and the other new updates (not Office or Skype related ones) won't install and always fail.
Moreover, whenever i'm asked to restart my computer to update windows, i always get the message "update failed to install" or "some updates were not installed".

What i tried yet:
-Reset my update Component
-trying to manually update windows from the Windows Download Catalogue
-restore a Restore point from 3 months ago, before it started to behave weirdly...

please guys i wish to avoid a full clean install of my OS

specs:

Intel core i5-4690 w/ CM Hyper TX3
C:\  Crucial MX100 256GB

Google "KB4041676".

Then limit the search criteria as applicable to your situation and environment.

Overall the KB4041676 update seems to be problematic.

My thought is that a clean install is not yet warranted. May not even help.

Watch and wait.

I would recommend just holding off on any action(s) until more is known and perhaps some directly applicable fix becomes available.
