Unable to move files to desktop from laptop harddrive

I recently had a laptop die on me. I pulled the harddrive and bought an enclosure. It is a Sata to USB enclosure. The laptop was Vista and the desktop i am moving the files to is XP. I can access the harddrive and see everything i want to move. However, when i try to move any of it it tells me; Cannot Copy (file name): Access is Denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use. I am on an administrator profile. I have switched ownership of everything on the harddrive to Everyone. I know there is enough space on my desktop and i can't see how the file would be in use since i can't even view any of the pictures or videos. This is with everything on the harddrive even though i can access all the files. Any suggestions?

Quick note* I just realized when i try to move over entire folders it copys the folder but not the files. I don't get it.

Alright i figured out why. The files are encrypted. Does anyone know how to unencrypt files without being able to log on to the user that encrypted them?
