just got a new computer and loaded microsoft 2013 on it. now cannot open ANY of my old word files, the icon has changed and wh

So do you have Office 2007 or which version? The icon will change to match the Word icon, so that's normal.

What error do you get when you try to open your old files and what version of Office where they made in?
