The general consensus seems to be to go with the gtx 680 if you can find it at the same price or less than the 7970. So, I returned my gigabyte 7970 (which was a very nice card) because I found a brand new EVGA superclocked gtx 680 on ebay for less money. However I am thoroughly disgusted at the fact that if I overclock the 680 gpu just 70 mhz to ~1240 (using evga precision x) it will crash every time.
That is pathetic. I know that with boost I am hitting 1163 without an overclock, but it would be nice to have a little headroom for overclocking. Is this something that is normal or is it something that merits an RMA to EVGA?
