I followed all the instructions here http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-600M/defaultguide.htm as well as downloaded the PFConfig software on my Laptop as well as Desktop PC but it doesn't seem to work because after following all the steps the ports are still blocked.

My ISP has placed a modem on my terrace connected to some box which is also on my terrace (I don't know why) and there's an Ethernet cable that comes from this modem into my home to the Wi-Fi Router. I spoke to my ISP's tech support and he said they don't block any ports from their end...

The reason I need to forward ports is for Xbox Live and Fifa 16 on Xbox 360.

o forward port working you should set the IP of your Xbox 360 so make sure you set up static IP for your Xbox and then set the port forward to be to that IP. After that if you still have issue could you please post some pic`s of the router setup from Port forward and from DHCP setup(the router you have your Xbox connect).

I am forwarding the ports to my home pc first. NAT port trigger, Telnet are disabled. Here are the screenshots:

It might be helpful to know more details about the ISP modem and "box". Can you provide the make and model of the modem? Which ISP are you with?

Is the IP address shown on http://whatismyipaddress.com/ the same as the one assigned to the WAN side of the DLink (i.e. the public IP is assigned to the DLink)?

Your screenshots seem to contradict each other.

One shows UPnP to XBox at 192.168.0.6

Another shows port forwarding (virtual server) to XBox at 192.168.0.25.

You should verify the actual XBox IP address and, if not already, reserve it or set it for a static IP address.

Yes. I thought that if I forward ports to the Xbox, there would be no way for me to verify whether they are actually forwarded so I should try forwarding them to my PC first (which has a static IP of 192.168.0.25) and verify that they are open.

Are you using an online port check tool? You should know that those tools require a response from the application using the port being checked.

If there is nothing on the PC using that port, the tool will not receive a response and list the port as closed.

If you are using something else to check the ports, please specify which tool is showing ports being closed or what other indication shows closed ports.

I used the software on www.portforward.com to open as well as check ports. To verify results, I also used a couple of online websites like www.canyouseemy.org

Forwarding the ports to your PC will not allow the ports to appear as open on canyouseeme.org, since no application on the PC will respond to the tool.

You should forward all ports properly to the XBox, and run the game for which you are trying to open ports. Then check canyouseeme.org to check the port status.

Just to see if any ports at all are being forwarded to my PC, I went to my router settings and added port 24986 TCP as well as UDP. Then I started downloading a torrent and specified the same port in utorrent settings. The download is going fine and there's a green tick on the bottom right corner of utorrent but websites still say that the port is closed. So I guess it's not just a lack of an active application that's causing this issue?

Are you sure the torrent client is using that specific port? Some torrent clients use the port number that you specify as a starting port, but will pick a random port from that spot.

In any case, if you feel you've done everything correctly, it's time to talk to your ISP about the issue.

Yes I think the client does use that port. The port number shows in the upnp list of my router page as well... And I've already spoken to my ISP and he says that they haven't blocked any ports. Strangely, none of the applications, be it Xbox or utorrent have given me a port error which says that the port is closed...
