I am using windows 11 and I still use MS office 2010.. and it still works fine.. HOWEVER.. I had to reset my pc and now no longer have that program.. BUT I DO still have the disc.. the problem is. This used a validation server to validate my program before installing it. Those servers (including game servers from old games) no longer exist.. is there a way for me to get around this so I can reinstall it on my PC.. or is it just toast??

Per Forum rules we cannot help with "get arounds".

Start by contacting Microsoft.

They may still have some provision for those continuing to use MS Office 2010.

Do you have the Product key? You may be asked to provide the key.

i am not trying to cheat anyone or anything and yes i DO have the product key.. microsoft wont help because they want me to use the NEW office 365.. what should have happened was not only office but all the other games we used to have to use validation servers.. they should have provided a way for us not to have to use that anymore since they cut us off at the knees.. it was a perfectly good product.. i didnt use it very often but i DID use it.

Many good products and services have "gone by the way" over the last 15+ years.

Everyone is affected.

Not promoting Microsoft per se but sometimes we have to go with the "proverbial flow".

Even Microsoft does not have control of everything: hardware, software, security requirements, AI, etc...

Consider a Microsoft 365 Office subcription. You can share the subscription with up to 5 other people. That is what I do for family members.

Good news being that you have Windows 11 (versus XP orsome other older OS version).

Bad news (my personal opinion) is that AI is quickly and intrusively getting into everything.

Everyone wants the "One ring to rule them all". Co-Pilot included.

Consider trying Microsoft 365 but be sure to back up all important data beforehand. (Backups should always be being done anyway.)

And watch out for Outlook - Classic vs New. New can be problematic.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

There may be other ideas and suggestions.
