I have a Dell Inspiron and I am trying to remove its PSU because I just bought a new one online. I have already unscrewed the 4 screws attached to the case but the PSU will not budge when I try pulling on it. It feels like the PSU is attached to the case somehow but I cannot take the case apart to see how.

Is there any way that I would be able to get the PSU out of the case?

If not, would I be able to have my new PSU outside the case, have it connected to everything inside, and be able to run?

Yes, the board connects to the PSU with a 24 pin connector. I figured the PSU may have been welded down but I was hoping that was not the case. Thank you for the reply, at least now I know I can still use my new PSU with a temporary setup outside the case.

I considered other options but I went with the EVGA 500W because of its lower price. I only need it for a light gaming rig and I'm not planning on doing any overclocking so I think it will be alright for what I need.
