I am having the worst time recovering this laptop. A friend tried downloading Fortnite on her laptop and afterwards it continued to blue screen, I took the laptop, ran a the lesser of the two full resets, and assumed that would be the end of it.

Come to find out that the computer would not get past the setup screens with the blue screen stop code of KNODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. I couldn’t get past setup to run another reset.

I downloaded a new copy of windows 10 onto a flash drive, ran BIOS to boot the flash drive first, got into installation, selected the advanced booting option, formatted all available partitions to wipe out any residual problems, and ran the new version of windows 10. It gets through copying the windows files, and during the step of “getting files ready for installation” the process stops with error code 0xC0000005. At this point I don’t know how to proceed and fix the problem.

EDIT: According to the owners, at one point during an update of the computer it shut down from low battery and the update may have never fully completed and caused problems for the computer afterwards

Solution
I googled the error code ( error code 0xC0000005) and that code indicates a memory problem (RAM).

However, there may be other reasons. Google the error code and do some additional research.

Determine if there is some specific event or circumstances that can relate the problem with your friends laptop.

Also age and condition of laptop? CMOS battery?
