For some reason, my external USB HD (Freecom) is no longer visible or accessible via My Computer, but it is visible and working correctly via Control Panel. I've tried uninstalling and it immedaitely reinstalls correctly .. but still not visible. I can see the usual C:, D: and F drives (F is a card reader). I canm also plug a USB memory stick in without any access issues ? Any ideas ?

had some time out (lunch) to think about this and remembered 'Disk Management' tool in Vista. The HD was showing in DM, but without a drive letter. Allocated a new letter (G
and all is well. Don't know why it lost the identification .. but as it's now working, no need to worry.
