I know this question gets asked quite a lot in the VM sphere but I’ve yet to find an answer for my particular situation.
Hardware:
Optiplex 755 A22 BIOS running 3.33Ghz IntelCore2Duo
8GB RAM
Windows 7 enterprise edition 64Bit
Goal:
To setup a VM and install windows server to learn and create a home lab.
Issue:
When installing and creating a new VM using Oracle Virtual Box, there is no option to select a 64Bit host OS
Tried solutions:
Enabled Virtualization within the A22 BIOS.
Eneabled any other option related to virt’ in this bios
Disabled VT I/O as per another user
Installed Windows Remote Tools and then disabled Hyper-V
Installed program in Admin mode
Ran program in Admin mode
Cold started PC
According to the information I’ve obtained my CPU model supports both virt and vt-x/d
Still cannot select desired OS for host
